It’s no secret that the back-to-school season is a busy time for our stores, but our Blue Shirts always find a way to make a positive impact on the community. Stores across the Edmonton area recently teamed up with The Mustard Seed to deliver school supplies to kids.

When Adina Aplin-Larson, District Human Resource Leader, made her store visits, there was a consistent theme – stores wanted to help families get back to it. Knowing that The Mustard Seed helps people in need by providing food, supplies and clothing, Adina pitched the idea of a partnership.

“Many families have been financially impacted by COVID-19, so I recommended that we purchase school supplies and deliver them to The Mustard Seed. Store Leaders immediately offered their ‘all in’ commitment and pooled their donation dollars to make it happen.”

Wasting no time, Adina filled shopping carts with school supplies. Adina says stores were blown away when they found out the impact they were going to have.

“When the Store Leaders saw the pictures of how much we were able to purchase and how far their donation dollars stretched, they were overwhelmed by their ability to touch so many families.”
