Best Buy scores 100% on Disability Equality Index for 10th year
Published 07/16/2024For the 10th consecutive year, Best Buy has earned a top score of 100% on the 2024 Disability Equality Index®.
The Disability Equality Index is a benchmarking tool used by companies to self-report and benchmark their disability inclusion policies and practices. The index measures culture and leadership, companywide access, community engagement, recruitment, benefits, and employee retention and advancement.
A total of 542 companies participated in this year’s survey.
Creating a more inclusive workplace
Best Buy aims to be an accessible and inclusive workplace for all employees. We strive to provide programs and resources that create a culture of belonging and help employees fully engage at work.
We offer a variety of benefits, accommodations and resources to our employees. These include things like access to modified work schedules and paid leaves of absence, no-cost counseling sessions, caregiver support, and digital platforms dedicated to mental well-being.
Our disABILITIES Employee Resource Group also helps remove barriers for people with disabilities and provides programming for mental health, chronic illness, autism, cancer, caregiving and addiction.
The Disability Equality Index is a joint initiative of Disability:IN and the American Association of People with Disabilities. Each company receives a score, on a scale of zero (0) to 100, with those earning 80 and above recognized as “Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion.”
