For 11th year in a row, Best Buy named ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year
Published 03/26/2024Best Buy is honored to be named ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year for the 11th consecutive year. This award reflects our ongoing commitment to helping our customers save energy and live more sustainably.
Each year, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency highlights organizations that have demonstrated exemplary commitments to promoting energy-efficient products and the ENERGY STAR program. This award represents one of many ways that we are working to protect the environment, which includes promoting the use of ENERGY STAR certified products to help our customers reduce energy consumption.
Winners of the award are selected from thousands of ENERGY STAR partners. (Find a complete list of 2024 winners and more information here.)
In June 2019, we set a goal to help customers reduce their carbon emissions from ENERGY STAR products by 20% and save $5 billion on their energy bills by 2030. Today, nearly half our customers select ENERGY STAR certified products when available, and more than 90 million ENERGY STAR certified products have been purchased at Best Buy since 2017.
Reach for the STAR(s)
Products that earn the ENERGY STAR certified label follow strict guidelines set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to save energy and money. By opting for an ENERGY STAR certified model, you’ll use less energy and save money on energy costs over the lifetime of that product. Best Buy offers a wide variety of ENERGY STAR products both in stores and online.
From laptops and smart thermostats to dishwashers and televisions, ENERGY STAR certified products can be easily identified by their signature blue ENERGY STAR label or in the product features section online.
In addition to selling energy efficient products, we’re committed to keeping products in use for as long as possible through our repair, trade-in, and recycling programs. These programs drive forward the circular economy, a system in which nothing is wasted. In fact, we’ve helped our customers recycle more than 2.7 billion pounds of electronics and appliances since 2009.
