SAP Business Network Onboarding - ExB
Making the Transition
Thank you to those Suppliers who participated in Wave 1 of onboarding to the Supplier Lifecycle Management (SLM) module in Ariba. Suppliers who are registered and qualified will now be able to move forward to Wave 2.
You must be a registered and qualified supplier to be able to receive a new business award in Ariba when you win a Sourcing Event. If you are not registered and qualified, please do so as soon as possible.
Wave 2 will consist of moving the current Product Requirement Document (PRD) onto the ARIBA platform. We will soon begin to utilize the ARIBA platform for our internal PRD process. Once PRDs are completed, registered and qualified suppliers can be invited to participate in Sourcing Events and submit their Vendor Bid Responses (currently known as VBRs). A Sourcing Event is when suppliers respond to the product requirements, provide pricing and other details previously captured on the PRD (Excel file)
We will also be using ARIBA for price changes in the future.
We expect Wave 2 Sourcing Events to begin sometime around March, 2024. Training and more information will be posted on the Partner Portal in the coming weeks. If you have any questions, please reach out to your Sourcing Manager, or email EXBAriba@BestBuy.com.

Onboarding to SAP Business Network
We began enabling suppliers on the SAP Business Network in Spring, 2023. The deadline to register will be dependent on each supplier’s wave assignment.
Supplier Lifecycle Management (SLM) Module
The Supplier Lifecycle Management (SLM) module allows ExB to request that a supplier register to be screened for potential business, and provides comprehensive tools to better manage your company’s information. This will reduce the turnaround time on updating company information within ExB’s systems.
The capabilities of the SLM module, at a high level, are:
- Access to a self-managed portal to update your company’s information
- A single, up-to-date supplier record
- Ease of maintaining information such as
- Address
- Contacts
- Remit to Address
- Name Changes
- Email & Phone Numbers
