Washington State Cookware Restrictions
Published May 01, 2026

Effective January 1, 2026, the state of Washington prohibits the sale of cookware containing lead over allowable levels. Please review the applicable laws for more details and review your assortment of products sold through Best Buy to determine if any products are subject to the sales ban.

Action Required

Please make a “Yes/No” selection for the new Mirakl attribute “Subject to state Lead sales restrictions” for all assortment SKUs within cookware categories. Selecting “Yes” on this attribute will ensure sales of applicable products are prohibited in Washington in accordance with the law.

Please be aware that your seller agreement requires that all products comply with federal, state, and local laws. Accordingly, you will be responsible for any legal and/or financial consequences resulting from your failure to comply with such laws (including, but not limited to, fees and penalties).

As a suggested resource, you can navigate to the Lead in Cookware Law found on the State of Washington Department of Ecology page.
