Initial Seller Payments

Initial Seller Payments
Published Jul 14, 2026

Upon initially selling on the Best Buy Marketplace, some sellers may not see payments right away due to the payment reserve. This reserve temporarily withholds payment to sellers to ensure there's a sufficient balance to cover debit activity such as customer-initiated returns.

As part of the payment reserve, Best Buy will withhold payment until you have met one of the following requirements:

  • Generated $3,000 in sales and it's been 30 days since your first order was accepted.
  • Generated $2,000 in sales and it’s been 60 days since your first order was accepted.
  • 90 days have passed since your first order was accepted and your store is in “open” status.

Once a seller has fulfilled the reserve requirements, Best Buy will resume payment to the seller in accordance with our 14-day payment cycle, with payments issued 3x per week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
