Best Buy Drop Carriers

Becoming a contracted drop carrier allows the driver to drop their trailers in Best Buy’s Distribution Center (DC) yards. The drivers can then move to their next appointment which frees up capacity.

The facilities will work on the trailers within 72 hours of the scheduled start time but may work trailers early based on their staffing and workload.

Carriers are required to pick up empty trailers from the DC location upon receiving notification from the facility. Guidelines for timing are found below and based on operating hours at the DC location:

  • Delivery Distribution Center (DDC): 24 hours
  • Regional Distribution Center (RDC): 72 hours

We reserve the right to implement Drop and Hook (1:1) trailer swaps at any time.

Program Overview and Requirements

Drop carriers are contracted and all initial appointment requests for the carrier SCACs are assumed and scheduled as drop trailer deliveries. An exception process is in place if the appointment needs to be live-offloaded.

Best Buy’s Transportation teams require that, at a minimum, our drop carrier partners have an interchange agreement with one of our dedicated providers at the desired delivering DC location.

To view additional information on the drop program process at the DC locations, reference the Inbound Shipping Guides:
