Circular Economy Sustainability Initiatives - November 2024 (Canada)
Published 10/29/2024At Best Buy Canada, we're committed to advancing the circular economy, a system where nothing goes to waste.
Our approach is to extend the lifespan of products, maximize their value during use, and recover and regenerate materials and products at the end of their lifecycle. In short - we reuse, reduce, and recycle, wherever we can.
Not only is the circular economy great for the environment, but it's also good for business. Here are some of the ways that we're implementing sustainable practices, while also supporting the bottom line.
- Trade-in - Customers can recycle or trade in their old devices and get a gift card towards their next purchase. Products are refurbished and resold. Demand for high-quality secondhand products is increasing.
- Circular Economy Partner Program (CEPP) - provides our vendor partners access to our reverse supply chain operations and Marketplace to help maximize recovery and reduce costs and impact on the environment. Vendor returns are refurbished and sold, donated, or recycled. Vendors continue to take advantage of this ecosystem program.
- Parts - More and more customers are searching for parts and accessories to extend the life of their products. This is a great opportunity to leverage Marketplace with your parts assortment.
