Best Buy has been recognized with awards that highlight our efforts to promote inclusion and diversity and help build brighter futures through tech across the country.

This recognition comes to life through a variety of initiatives, including hiring more BIPOC and women employees, creating more opportunities and post-secondary support for youth, continuing to cultivate an inclusive culture for our communities, and more. We’re proud of the recognition. We also know we have a lot more progress to make to get to where we want to be.

Here are some of the honors we received:

Forbes – The World’s Top Female-Friendly Companies

Best Buy ranks No. 15 on Forbes’ 2022 list of the World’s Top Female-Friendly Companies, which recognizes companies that support women at work and home. We are one of four retailers in the top 15 spots, and we’re one of seven U.S. companies in the top 20. Forbes teamed up with market research company Statista to survey 85,000 women in 36 countries. Respondents were asked to rate their employers on criteria such as pay equity, parental leave and opportunities for advancement. This is our second time making the prestigious list.

Newsweek

Newsweek, in cooperation with Plant-A Insights Group, conducted an independent study to determine America’s Greatest Workplaces for Diversity for 2023. With over 350,000 reviews, Best Buy was one of the top companies in the U.S. recognized for celebrating workplace diversity and implementing policies that cultivate an inclusive workspace.

Ethisphere – World’s Most Ethical Companies

The Ethisphere World’s Most Ethical Companies list recognizes companies based on culture, environmental and social practices, ethics and compliance activities, and diversity initiatives. The process includes more than 200 questions, and this year, the list recognized 136 companies located in 22 countries covering 45 industries. We are one of only three retailers on the list and it’s our eighth time earning the honor.

Human Rights Campaign – Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality

Every year, the HRC Corporate Equality Index evaluates companies’ policies and practices to promote equality in the workplace for LGBTQIA+ employees. For the 17th year, Best Buy was named one of the best places to work for the LGBTQIA+ community, earning a perfect rating of 100% from the Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index. Data from the Index measures how companies are growing and moving toward goals they’ve set for workplace equity and unity. These include domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, nondiscrimination workplace protections, and public engagement with the LGBTQIA+ community.

Disability Equality Index – Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion

Best Buy earned a perfect 100 score to be named a 2022 Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion by the Disability Equality Index (DEI). The index is a comprehensive benchmarking tool that recognizes commitment toward disability equality practices and helps companies build a roadmap of actions that they can take to achieve inclusion and equality in the workplace. It is our eighth year in a row making the list.

Diversity Inc. – Noteworthy

For the fourth year, Best Buy has landed a spot on DiversityInc’s list of Noteworthy Companies that are committed to workplace diversity. The list recognizes the nation’s top companies that excel in hiring, retaining and promoting women and BIPOC employees, people with disabilities, LGBTQIA+ individuals and military veterans.
