Shepherdsville Goes All-In on Reverse Logistics

Published 06/14/2021

Effective August 1, 2021, Best Buy will discontinue fulfilling e-commerce orders out of the Shepherdsville location. However, the current space will be repurposed to store excess inventory from other locations so that we can provide relief to those buildings.

Why are we making this change?

Over the last several years, we’ve invested significantly in ways to enable greater choice, speed and convenience when shopping Best Buy. Getting inventory closer to the customer and making investments in automation and technology allows us to fulfill orders faster and more efficiently.

To build upon the work we’ve done to serve our customers and to support the best recovery possible in our reverse supply chain, we will move the processing of our BestBuy.com volume from the Shepherdsville building to other locations and transition the building to a primary RLC operation. This shift allows the team to focus entirely on a critical function of our business #8212 reverse logistics.

How does this impact Purchase Orders?

  • No new PO’s will be created for location 1376
  • Any open PO’s should still be shipped.
