We’re excited to announce that Best Buy was named to Forbes’ list of America’s Best Employers for Veterans 2022. This is our first time on the list.

Forbes surveyed 7,000 U.S. veteran employees. Participants were asked to rate their employer on career development, diversity, and topics specific to veterans in the workplace, such as recruitment processes and pipelines. Companies were also evaluated on veteran representation in leadership roles and philanthropic efforts geared toward veterans.

Support for veterans

Veteran employees can find support at Best Buy through benefits, resources and community.

We’ve recently been recognized for our support of our military employees with the Above and Beyond Award, and several of our leaders have received Patriot Awards for their personal support of military employees.

In addition, our Military Employee Resource Group (ERG) provides space for employees to find community-based on shared experiences serving or supporting loved ones in the military.

The ERG hosts listening sessions for members and brings feedback to the company on ways to make the veteran employee experience better. This has led to a comprehensive guide for Best Buy recruiters to understand military vocabulary and ranks so they can better support veterans throughout the recruiting process.

Best Buy also provides a military leave of absence and leave guide for managers and employees to feel supported during the process. All employees also have access to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), which can connect military employees to counselors and resources for their mental health.
